E1 Song Of The West
The American West (often referred to as the ‘Wild West’) has been a fertile source of inspiration for authors and composers, often painting a rosy glow that was far removed from reality. The original settlers must have been a hardy bunch, given the unknown challenges they faced, especially the rugged territory and the fact that there were already people living there who understandably disliked being removed from their traditional lands.

E1 Springtime
Leroy Anderson is probably the best-loved American light music composer of his generation. For many years he was the chief arranger for the Boston Pops, and its famous conductor Arthur Fiedler introduced many Anderson novelties to an appreciative world.

K1 Jon Vickers - The early years
The recordings on the present CD show Vickers at the beginning of his career, but certainly not as a beginner. In the summer of 1961 he had just put his three and a half turbulent years behind him when he recorded a recital programme for RCA under Tullio Serafin.
